Off the N12, 28km from Wolmaransstad.
Leeudoringstad was named after a particular type of thorn bush that once grew in abundance near the farm Rietkuil, on which the village was founded in 1920.
Attractions include Leeudoringstad Museum and Wolwespruit Nature Reserve:
Iin 1932 a train loaded with dynamite exploded in the centre of the town, information and photos of the disaster are displayed in the museum.
Situated 2 kms south of the town on the banks of the Vaal River, this small reserve conserves riverine vegetation in very natural surroundings. Scenic hiking trails with limited accommodation and excellent yellow fish angling sites.
