Area
The Reserve is situated on the eastern municipal boundary
of Mafikeng and is home to about 2 000 head of game. Because
of the relatively flat terrain these can be viewed exceptionally
well. Numerous birds can also be viewed along the Molopo River.
This reserve is the home of the Baden Powell Boy Scout Movement.
Wildlife
This 4 800 ha reserve, which can be described as Kalahari
with acacia- dominated and sourish mixed bushveld, is a real
game-viewing experience. The main attraction is game, particularly
plains game, such as giraffe, small and large antelope, buffalo,
rhino, zebra, warthog and ostrich.
Birdlife
Birdlife is prolific with many species of the waxbill and
finch families.
