BENEFITS OF THE WWC TO THE NORTH WEST PROVINCE OF SOUTH AFRICA

North West Province has fully embraced the WWC and is in full support of the development objectives of the WWC - to leave a legacy in the province and its people once the WWC moves on.

WWC will be opening an office in Rustenburg to ensure that the people of the Bojanala Platinum District Municipality have the opportunity to partake in the economic opportunities created by the World Cup.

Specific focus areas are:

local economic development by supporting SMMEs where possible
including local guesthouses and B&Bs in the accommodation portfolio
set-up of a large arts and craft village during WWC 2007
selecting & grooming local talent to participate in official ceremonies
entertainment during the event by local talent
golf development clinics in primarily rural areas
golf clinics for business women in various municipalities
creating business links and opportunities through the medium of golf
large tourism drive locally and internationally to increase both the awareness of the event and international visitors to the event and the North West Province
