2.2 BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION MANAGEMENT DIVISION

1. Protected Areas Management
2. Social Ecology
3. Protected Areas Expansion and Establishment, and
4. Ecological Services

Key Priorities:

    North West Plan for Protected Areas (in line with National Plan & Provincial Agenda 21 Plan)
    Expansion on the basis of bio-diversity and economic principles e.g. Madikwe, Pilanesberg, Borakalalo, Kgaswane, Mafikeng, Pilanesberg to Madikwe Corridor
    Maintain a leading role nationally and regionally
    Resolve land ownership and land claims
    Decentralization (Pilanesburg pilot project)
    Expand opportunities for public/private Community partnerships
    Source funds for maintenance and development of management and tourism infrastructure.

2.3. HOTEL SCHOOLS DIVISION DIVISION

    The Mafikeng Hotel School in Mafikeng (MHS).
    The Ga-Rankuwa Hotel School in Ga-Rankuwa near Pretoria (GHS).
    The focus is the training of people who want to participate in the hospitality industry.
    Generating income through its business operations along-side academic processes.
